About this property

Welcome to Park Creek Overlook and Ski Area

Park Creek Overlook and Ski Area is a ski resort situated in Lowman, Idaho, offering visitors access to cross-country skiing with well-maintained trails supported by local volunteers. The area is free to use and features facilities such as parking and a restroom, making it convenient for day visitors and outdoor enthusiasts rushing to enjoy a scenic stretch of the Sawtooth Range.

The setting blends natural beauty with rustic charm, including a wooden fence that enhances opportunities for classic western-style photography. Guests frequently note the expansive views of the mountains, especially appealing during spring when wildflowers bloom or winter when peaks are snow-capped. This makes the site popular not only for skiing but also as an overlook spot for quick stops to take in the landscape.

Amenities include a wheelchair accessible parking lot and restroom, alongside a restaurant and facilities suited for children. While the site offers a picnic bench and basic conveniences, it is primarily designed for short visits rather than extended stays, due to limited sun cover during warmer months. Visitors often appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, with minimal crowds reported during typical visits.

Overall, Park Creek Overlook and Ski Area attracts guests looking for an accessible and straightforward outdoor experience, whether to ski, observe wildlife, or simply enjoy the scenic views of Idaho’s mountainous terrain. The resort's practical offerings and natural surroundings make it well suited for families and individuals seeking a casual, nature-focused outing rather than a full-service resort experience.

I stop here every visit I make to the area. The views are great and many times I see elk in the valley below. The pictures captured from here are fantastic

This is all about the view. Get out stretch your legs and get jazzed for your travels. It has a small restroom and a picnic bench. Not a lot of sun cover in the summer so this isn't a stay and play area but we sat and ate with one of the best views in idaho.

This overlook offers a fantastic view of the sawtooth mountains, and is particularly stunning with spring flowers in bloom and the snow capped peaks. There is plenty of parking and when we were there now crowds. The rustic fence adds a nice touch for those looking for a classic western photo opportunity. I highly recommend for a 5 to 10 minute stop from Stanley or Sun Valley to the south.

Came here at night to try to get some cool pictures of the Milky Way. Unfortunately it was one day before a full moon so stars didn't look any different than they do at home in Minnesota. (We're here in vacation so just bad timing). Still got a couple neat pictures with the mountains. Hopefully you'll have better luck!

Great spot to take in first view of the Sawtooths. Area was burned over a few years back but still a nice spot. Vault toilet is a plus.

Nice basic cross country ski area, free to use, close to Stanley. Groomed by the generosity of the locals. Parking and toilet available. Snowshoes welcome. No snowmobiles, obviously. Off season serves as an overlook and photo spot for the Dry Creek meadow and the western peaks of the Sawtooth Range.
